These beautiful black puppies are the pairing of Sweet Emma, and an unintended sire that we have dubbed "The Wandering Minstrel". Emma was adopted out because of infertility, with a spay agreement. She had never had a litter before this. But before the spay happened, Emma was visited by a handsome black Lab from her new neighborhood. As a result, we brought Emma back to the farm for her whelping, and to care for and place all the puppies.

The photos we got of the father give us the impression he is purebred, but we cannot be absolutely certain. He has a white marking on his chest and one foot, but purebred Labs often have those (they are called "ancestral markings" from their foundation breed, the St. John's Water Dog).

There is one lad and three lasses. They are very well-built and have nice, calm temperaments. Emma is small (about 55 lbs.) but the male is pretty large (perhaps 90 lbs.), so estimating the size the puppies will reach is difficult. Sweet Emma of Covenant Farm is an 3-year-old American Lab. She has a soft, beautiful chocolate coat. Like many American Labs, she has a fairly high drive, but a sweet demeanor. She's very affecionate and intelliegent and loves close companionship. She is well-behaved in the house or in the yard.

Emma is AKC registered.

This handsome lad showed up at the farm while Belle was in heat and not contained. He had his way with her, and the same day, so did Rhyme Time. The result is that five of these puppies were sired by Rhyme, and one little lad was sired by The Wayfaring Stranger.
